Keynote Speaker
We are honored to welcome Dr. Michelle Flaum as our 2027 Women of Class Summit keynote speaker. A internationally recognized leader in medical trauma‑informed care, Dr. Flaum is a Professor of Counseling at Xavier University, a Fellow of the American Mental Health Counseling Association, and a dual‑diplomate specialist in trauma and integrated behavioral health. She developed the world’s first Certificate in Medical Trauma‑Informed Care and authored the pioneering book Managing the Psychological Impact of Medical Trauma. Her second book Medical Trauma: Assessment Tools, Coping Skills, and Recovery Strategies for Therapists and Survivors, was published in 2026. Her assessment tools and protocols—used across the U.S. and internationally—have shaped how clinicians support patients experiencing medical trauma, and her expertise has been featured on NPR, SiriusXM, Refinery29, Elle, and more. With over two decades of clinical experience and a teaching portfolio that blends neuroscience, mindfulness, and strengths‑based approaches, Dr. Flaum brings a rare combination of scholarship, compassion, and innovation. We are thrilled to have her share her insight, her advocacy, and her extraordinary perspective with our Women of Class community.
